What’s going on with this blog?
So…this is purportedly a blog about building the beloved community, but in the past few months the majority of posts have been about fun and movie reviews. What gives?
I’m in search.
“In search” means I’m engaged in the Unitarian Universalist job hunt process for settled ministry. Since mid-November, my spare time has been spent putting together my packet of materials, researching congregations (including talking with interim ministers and a congregation’s previous ministers), and having phone interviews. This is in addition to my full time work as a hospital chaplain.
In the next two months, I will be traveling to different congregations for longer interviews and to lead worship and preach for the search committees. (This is still in addition to my full time work as a hospital chaplain!)
This is an extraordinarily exciting time! And it’s also kept me very busy. VERY. BUSY. I have started multiple blog posts but not had the time nor the energy to flesh them out to my satisfaction. And so much of what’s on my mind right now can’t be shared. The search process is extremely confidential.
So I will continue to post “Friday Just For Fun.” And if I can get it together to post something more thoughtful, I certainly will. But in the meantime, I welcome all the good energy you can send as I look for a congregation to serve.
